Position Description

The Mathematics Department at Bowdoin College invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible visiting assistant professor position. The appointment is for two years and begins July 1, 2025. The teaching load is two courses per semester. A Ph.D. is expected by the time of appointment. Applicants will provide evidence of excellence in teaching and support for building a broad mathematical community inside or outside the classroom.   In both areas, we appreciate that a candidate's experiences may be commensurate with their career stage. A successful candidate will have completed at least two semesters of teaching as the primary instructor or instructor of record. Applications are invited in all fields of mathematics and statistics.

The targeted hiring salary range for this appointment based on the position requirements is $71,000 – $75,000.
