Position Description

The Department of Mathematics at Wellesley College invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer for the spring 2025 semester. The position is for teaching two or three courses including Calculus I and Linear Algebra. Teaching one course is also a possibility. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting immediately. The semester begins on January 21, 2025.

A successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences and provide strong evidence of excellence in teaching. Applications should be submitted online through MathJobs and should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching interests and experience, and two letters of reference discussing teaching. The cover letter should address the candidate’s interest in developing his/her teaching and research in an undergraduate liberal arts setting with a diverse student body. Additional documents, such as past student evaluations or a letter of recommendation for research, may be submitted but are not required. This position is in a collective bargaining unit represented by Wellesley Organized Academic Workers – UAW (WOAW-UAW).
