Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Amherst College
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a one-year visiting position in Mathematics, with possible extension for one or two more years, beginning July 1, 2025, at the assistant professor level.
Responsibilities include teaching a range of undergraduate mathematics courses (two per semester) and helping with the senior comprehensive exam. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field and have broad intellectual interests and a strong commitment to excellence in research and in undergraduate teaching. Applications should include evidence of effectiveness at teaching undergraduate mathematics (for example, copies of the candidate’s prior teaching evaluations), and a dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Submit cover letter, curriculum vitae, list of publications, research statement, teaching statement, and at least three letters of recommendation, including at least one specifically addressing teaching, to www.mathjobs.org.
