Position Description

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Denver invites applications for three Visiting Assistant Professor positions in mathematics to begin on Sept 1, 2025. These are non-tenure-track positions that may be renewed for a maximum of three years. 

The successful candidates will teach five undergraduate courses over three quarters of the 9-month academic year and they are expected to conduct high quality research. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests have some overlap with those of the permanent faculty members. Active areas of research include: 
  • Algebraic logic 
  • Combinatorics 
  • Ergodic theory 
  • Functional analysis 
  • Graph theory 
  • Group theory 
  • Non-associative algebra 
  • Noncommutative geometry 
  • Number theory 
  • Operator theory 
  • Probability 
  • Representation theory 
  • Statistical physics 
  • Topological dynamics

Experience in teaching college mathematics and evidence of research ability and potential are also required. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in mathematics before the start of the appointment (September 1st, 2025).
