Position Description

Assistant Professor - Mathematics - Full Time tenure-track
The Department of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics at Vermont State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in August 2025. This position will be based at the Randolph campus. The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. in mathematics or related areas and should have previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Candidates with experience teaching in a variety of modalities (in-person, face-to-face-plus, asynchronous online) are encouraged to apply.

 Job Description and Responsibilities 
  The new faculty member will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate courses, including Statistics, Calculus, Principles of Mathematics, Discrete Math, Technical Math, Applied Math for Health Sciences, Applied Math for Engineering. Candidates with plans to involve undergraduate students in research and publications are encouraged to apply. We also seek candidates with interest in developing internal and external collaborations. 
 In addition to teaching and research, faculty at VTSU are expected to participate in and contribute to university committees, scholarship and professional development, student advising, service to the college community, development of curriculum and educational facilities as needed, and other duties related to teaching effectiveness, scholarship, and service to the university community.

 Minimum Requirements 
 The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. in mathematics or related areas and should have previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Candidates with experience teaching in a variety of modalities (in-person, face-to-face-plus, asynchronous online) are encouraged to apply. 

 Salary 
 Based on qualifications and experience as defined by VSC-VSCFF Bargaining Unit Agreement. Per this agreement the minimum salary for an Assistant Professor will be not less than $55,000 USD per annum plus a comprehensive benefit and retirement package.
