National Math Camps

Position Description
Are you a mathematician or math educator with a vision for an inspiring summer program? National Math Camps is seeking passionate individuals and teams to launch their own residential summer math camps and inspire the next generation of mathematicians.
About Us
At National Math Camps, we believe that summer math camps provide transformative experiences that deeply strengthen students' mathematical knowledge and identity. Many of today’s premier mathematicians and scientists point to their participation in math camps as a critical step in their mathematical journeys. It is in these immersive programs that they discovered the beauty and joy of mathematics in a tight-knit community of other “mathy” students and decided to pursue careers that push innovation in the STEM fields.
Yet, the demand for rigorous math camps in the U.S. far exceeds the available opportunities, leaving many talented students without access to these life-changing experiences. We’re here to change that. Our mission is to ensure that all mathematically talented students have access to rigorous summer programs where they can thrive.
By partnering with National Math Camps, you’ll gain access to operational support, mentoring, and centralized infrastructure, so you can focus on what you do best—inspiring and teaching young mathematicians. Let’s work together to create something extraordinary!
What We're Looking For
We are currently seeking individuals and teams interested in launching a camp in summer 2026 or beyond. Here's what we're looking for:
A committed Academic Director: An individual or team that includes at least one mathematician who will serve as the camp’s Academic Director and be on-site for the whole camp.
A vision for a residential camp in the U.S.: The camp should have a selective admissions process and serve students ages 8–18 (upper elementary, middle, and/or high school). Camps serving students under 11 years old will include a parent participant.
A vibrant, in-person community: A commitment to fostering mathematical communities where students build lasting friendships and learn from one another.
Joyful learning experiences: A focus on sparking curiosity, nurturing creativity, and instilling a love for mathematics.
Rigor and deep engagement: A dedication to providing meaningful mathematical challenges that promote mastery, resilience, and problem-solving skills.
Beyond these criteria, we’re excited to support a range of camp models, from tried-and-true approaches to innovative new ideas. Our goal is to ensure that every mathematically talented student can find their best-fit program.
Note: For summer 2026, we’re especially interested in:
High school camps (ages 14–18): Typically 5–6 weeks long.
Upper elementary school camps (ages 8–11): Typically 1–2 weeks long, with the ability to run multiple sessions strongly preferred.
However, if you have a different idea, we’d still love to hear from you!
