Position Description

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Minnesota State University, Mankato invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in mathematics with an emphasis on both teaching and research in the area of combinatorics for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The person filling the position is expected to be able to teach a wide range of graduate and undergraduate level mathematics courses, contribute to scholarly activities in the department, engage in research activities involving undergraduate and graduate students, and to engage in professional service.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers B. A., B. S., M. A. and M. S. programs in mathematics, statistics, and secondary teaching. The Department has 24 full-time faculty committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Faculty specialties include applied computational mathematics, number theory, combinatorial matrix theory, stochastic differential equations and stochastic processes, partial differential equations and industrial mathematics, topology and dynamical systems, statistics, numerical analysis, probability, algebraic combinatorics and discrete mathematics, real analysis, geometry, optimization, and both elementary and secondary mathematics education.
