Introduction of School of Science
The School of Science was established in February 2021. Given Sun Yat-sen University's strategic goal of building a world-class university, the School has formed a college culture of "combining morality and talent as well as and uniting knowledge and action".
The School of Science will focus on the key disciplines such as particle physics and nuclear physics, plasma physics and applied mathematics, and support the construction of large scientific installations such as the Gamma Photon Collider and Comprehensive Particle Facility. The school will play an important role in serving the major national strategic needs and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and providing support for the discipline layout and development of the Shenzhen campus.

Discipline Orientation of Recruitment
1. Applied Mathematics, Basic Mathematics, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics and other related majors;
2. Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, Theoretical Physics, Plasma Physics, Optics and other related majors.
Recruitment Positions and Conditions
1) Professor (Tenured): Strong academic performance, and have made significant achievements and contributions in talent cultivation or academic research that have been recognized both domestically and internationally; have significant influence and academic status both domestically and internationally, able to lead the discipline field in striving towards or reaching globally leading standards, have outstanding leadership and organizational skills. Under 50 years old.
2) Associate Professor (Tenured): Relatively strong academic performance, and have made achievements and contributions in talent cultivation or academic research that have been widely recognized both domestically and internationally, have strong influence and academic status at home and abroad, able to maintain the academic standards of the discipline field; able to become an independent academic leader in the discipline field. Under 45 years old.
3) Associate Professor (Tenure-track): Strong scientific research and technological innovation capabilities, with high-level achievements in talent cultivation or academic research; have some academic influence both domestically and internationally; have the potential to become an academic leader or outstanding scholar in the discipline field. Under 40 years old.
4) Assistant Professor (Tenure-track): Have a broad academic horizon, strong innovative thinking skills and a solid research foundation; able to achieve high-level academic results; have substantial potential for academic development.Under35 years old.
5) Post-doctoral Fellows: Under 35 years old, have received doctoral degree of no more than 3 years, be familiar with the rules of higher education system and the state of higher education both domestically and abroad; possess an international academic vision, high academic standards and strong scientific research ability.
Hiring Process

2. College review and interview: The talent introduction team of the college conducts a comprehensive evaluation and review of the applicants. The selected talents are reported to the school for approval.
3. The school approves related materials of applicants.
4. The school appoints applicants who are qualified.
5. Applicants receive job offer, register and sign the employment contract.
