Our university is also consistently recognized by other agencies and organizations as a military-friendly university and a great place for veterans to earn their degrees.

ECU is located in Greenville, NC (est. pop. 90,000). Greenville is a vibrant and growing community that offers a college-town atmosphere, a temperate climate, and outstanding cultural and outdoor recreational opportunities along with an affordable cost of living.

The Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences (https://thcas.ecu.edu/) is home to sixteen academic departments, several interdisciplinary research centers, and a number of inter- and multi-disciplinary programs (https://thcas.ecu.edu/undergraduate-programs/). The College seeks to create an environment that fosters the recruitment and retention of our student body, faculty, staff, and administration and works to increase access to higher education by building a culture of care, belonging, and opportunity.

The Department of Mathematics at https://math.ecu.edu/ is one of the sixteen departments of the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences at East Carolina University and offers the BA, BS, and MA degrees in mathematics. Faculty in the department hold doctoral degrees from top universities and engage in research and publication.

As a department, we serve a wide range of students—from those fulfilling their general education requirements to graduate students in mathematics—and are committed to helping all of them reach their mathematical goals. Our department is an active participant in the system-wide Math Pathways initiative (https://www.utdanacenter.org/our-work/higher-education/dana-center-mathematics-pathways). ECU Department of Mathematics also provides the leadership and administrative home for North Carolina’s Early Mathematics Placement Testing Center (https://sites.ecu.edu/ncempt/).
