Postdoctoral Position in Number Theory and Representation Theory Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences University of Alberta Commencing Fall 2025 The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in Number Theory and Representation Theory, beginning in Fall 2025. We are particularly interested in candidates specializing in automorphic forms, arithmetic groups, p-adic groups, Kac-Moody groups, (geometric) representation theory, and Arakelov geometry. This position is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal for additional years. The fellowship includes a teaching component, requiring the successful candidate to teach at most one course per year. The position also offers opportunities to lead and organize research seminars. The fellowship is valued at approximately 60,000 CAD per year (inclusive of a teaching stipend), with additional funding available for research-related expenses. Postdoctoral fellows and their eligible dependents will be enrolled in the University of Alberta’s Postdoctoral Fellows Benefit Plan.
