Position Description:

Assistant / Associate Professor of Mathematics (Applied Mathematics & Statistics) School of Science and Engineering Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI), Morocco The School of Science and Engineering at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) invites applications for a full-time position in Mathematics, with primary expertise in Applied Mathematics and/or Statistics.

Appointment is expected at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Exceptionally qualified candidates holding a Master’s degree in Mathematics with substantial teaching experience may be considered for appointment at the rank of Lecturer.

AUI is a public, non-profit, English-language institution of higher education founded on the American liberal arts model. We seek faculty who are committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and who value interdisciplinary engagement in a diverse academic community.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Teach undergraduate courses in Applied Mathematics and/or Statistics, as well as core courses in Mathematics supporting majors and minors within the School.

• Contribute to service teaching for programs across the University, including computing and other STEM disciplines.

• Maintain an active research agenda appropriate to rank.

• Participate in departmental, school, and university service consistent with faculty responsibilities in a liberal arts environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field (required for Assistant or Associate Professor rank).

• Demonstrated commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching.

• Evidence of scholarly activity appropriate to career stage.

• Ability to teach a broad range of courses in Mathematics and Statistics.

Candidates seeking appointment at the Associate Professor rank should present a record of sustained scholarly productivity and effective teaching commensurate with that level.

Al Akhawayn University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). Several degree programs within the School of Science and Engineering hold ABET accreditation. As an American-style university operating in English, AUI occupies a distinctive position in Morocco and the broader MENA region.
