Position Description

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Tsinghua University has a distinguished history spanning nearly a century. During its formative years, the department was chaired by eminent mathematicians including Chi-Fan Cheng (郑之蕃), King-Lai Hiong (熊庆来), and Wu-Chih Yang (杨武之). It has nurtured academic masters, including Shiing-Shen Chern (陈省身), Loo-Keng Hua (华罗庚), and Pao-Lu Hsu (许宝騄). 
Tsinghua University set the goal of becoming one of the world-class universities by 2030 and standing in the vanguard of the top players by 2050. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is dedicated to building a world-class platform for mathematical research and talent cultivation. Currently, the department has established a relatively comprehensive disciplinary system. Its research directions cover most mainstream areas of contemporary international mathematical research, with several disciplines demonstrating strong momentum and significant international impact. 
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Tsinghua University is inviting outstanding scholars from around the world to join us!

Research Areas: 
All areas of Mathematics and Statistics(including Mathematical Applications and Interdisciplinary Studies). Priority will be given to high-level talents and outstanding scholars in Computational Mathematics, Operations Research and Control Theory, and related fields. 

Job Responsibilities: 
 a) To carry out cutting-edge and innovative research in the discipline.
 b) Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. 
 c) Mentoring young talents, both undergraduate and postgraduate, and building a high-level academic team. 
 d) To engage in collaborations to expand the global influence of the discipline. 
 e) To participate in disciplinary developments at the department and university level.

Qualifications: 
 a) Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field. 
 b) Postdoctoral research experience is preferable, or at least two years' experience working in a research-oriented university or institution. 
 c) A solid theoretical foundation, with the ability to track and contribute to major advancements in the field. 
 d) Excellent research and teaching records for associate professor or above. 
 e) Ability to supervise independently graduate students and to teach mathematics courses. 
 f) Strong professional ethics, teamwork spirit, and a commitment to academic integrity.
