Subject to budgetary approval, Rice University, located in Houston, Texas expects to have open Instructorship positions beginning in the Fall of 2026 (including G.C. Evans and Lovett Instructorships). These instructorships are open to all qualified candidates. Required education is a PhD (or PhD requirements fulfilled by starting date), in Mathematics or related field. These positions are two to three year appointments and are open to promising research mathematicians with research interests in common with the active research areas at Rice; particularly, algebraic geometry and number theory, analysis, differential geometry, dynamics, geometric analysis, geometric group theory, geometric topology, harmonic analysis and additive combinatorics, non-commutative algebra, partial differential equations, mathematical physics and symplectic geometry and topology. Duties will include research and classroom teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have received their Ph.D. degree no earlier than December 2024.
