Position Description

Applications are invited for CFS-track and visiting professor positions at any level (assistant, associate, or full professor) in the Department of Mathematics at Brigham Young University to begin in August 2026. Starting rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The department has a strong commitment to undergraduate education and has a substantial doctoral program. Candidates will be evaluated on evidence of excellent teaching and the potential to make significant research contributions. Applications in all areas of mathematics are welcome. The application deadline is September 30, 2025.

Applicants must include the following: cover letter, curriculum vitae, at least four letters of recommendation, one of which should address teaching ability, a research statement, and a teaching statement. Required Degree: PhD in mathematics or a related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Duties and expectations: Teaching mathematics at the undergraduate and graduate levels; conducting independent research; mentoring students at the undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. levels; supporting university, college, and department goals and missions.
