Position Description
The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor in Mathematical Sciences to begin September 1, 2026, with teaching and research responsibilities commencing in the Fall of 2026. In addition to offering a broad array of mathematics and statistics courses at the undergraduate level, the department offers graduate programs leading to five different Master of Science degrees, including Applied Mathematics and Applied Statistics.
While applicants with expertise in all fields of statistics and applied mathematics will be considered, preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to teaching in areas of need to the department, including biostatistics, longitudinal data analysis, time series, experimental design, mathematical finance, and operations research. Faculty responsibilities include teaching, advising, maintaining an active program of scholarship, and engaging in university service.

Qualifications:
Required
PhD (or expected completion of PhD by July 1, 2026) in statistics, mathematics, or applied mathematics

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the qualifications, education, experience, and training of the selected candidate, the scope and responsibilities of the position, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

About DePaul University's Academic Calendar
Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).
Salary Information: The salary range for this 10-month position is $89,400 - $93,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
