Position Description

The Department of Mathematics of Rice University, located in Houston, Texas, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

Applicants for the position should have extremely strong research potential, and should provide evidence of success in teaching. Required education is a PhD (or PhD requirements fulfilled by starting date), in Mathematics or related field.

The position will entail teaching undergraduate and graduate classes and performing research in mathematics. Applications should include: (1) the American Mathematical Society cover sheet, (2) a curriculum vitae, (3) at least four letters of recommendation, including one discussing teaching abilities, (4) a description of research program, (5) teaching statement including evidence of teaching effectiveness and courses you could teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level. (6) a description of how you would contribute to the development of a diverse and inclusive learning community at Rice through your teaching, research, and/or service.
