The excellence of the Professors of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics (DMS) of the University of Montréal contributes to its outstanding international reputation. Successful candidates whose research topic is related to artificial intelligence may be considered for a position as an IVADO professor, which offers enhanced start-up conditions.

Responsibilities
for this position
- Supervise
graduate students.
- Develop
a high-quality research program in statistics and pursue publication activities.
- Apply
for funding from major granting agencies.
- Participate
in the dissemination of knowledge and in the outreach of the University through
conferences and scientific activities.
- Contribute
to the operation and development of the Department, the Faculty of Arts and
Science and the University of Montréal.
Requirements
- Hold a
Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or in another related field.
- A strong
research and publication record.
- Demonstrated
ability to provide high quality university teaching.
- An
adequate knowledge of the written and spoken French language or a strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance with Université de Montréal's Language Policy. An institutional learning support program is offered
to all professors wishing to learn French or improve their communication skills.
