Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The standard teaching load for a lecturer is 27 credit hours per academic year.
- A strong commitment to excellence in teaching mathematics courses ranging from general education courses to more advanced mathematics courses (depending on qualifications).
- A strong commitment to student success among the college's disciplines and be ready to invest deeply in KSU students.
- Service to the department or institution is also required.
Required Qualifications
- An earned Doctorate or Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in mathematics from an accredited university is required at the time of hire.
- Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Experience in implementing active learning methods that facilitate meaningful engagement with students.
- Experience teaching courses such as college algebra, precalculus, and calculus.
- Evidence of commitment to student success.
Department Information: Our students experience world-class instruction in the Department of Mathematics from faculty who are deeply invested in student success. Nearly all courses offered by the department are designed and taught entirely by full-time faculty. Our small classes allow instructors to develop close individualized relationships with students that sets them on a path for success whether majoring in mathematics or many other related disciplines. Our department has a vibrant research culture and actively engages in mentoring students in original research projects. Our graduates are fully prepared to enter the workforce in industry or academia where deep analytic and quantitative skills are in high demand.
