The IDA Center for Communications Research, Princeton (CCRP), invites applications for its summer research program, SCAMP. Each year, mathematicians, statisticians, computer scientists, physicists and engineers from academia and industry come to CCRP to work with our research staff and visitors from our sponsor, the National Security Agency. The scientific scope is broad and varied, including proving theorems, high-performance implementations of mathematical algorithms, practical machine learning, and statistical data analysis. Our research environment is deeply collaborative, built around multidisciplinary teams, and combining theory and practice. No background in the area(s) of focus is necessary - just enthusiasm for collaborating on hard problems.

SCAMP is held at our facility in Princeton, New Jersey and runs for 10 weeks from mid-June to mid-August. Participants are paid for their time and reimbursed for their travel and housing expenses. Many take advantage of Princeton's proximity to New York City, Philadelphia and the Jersey shore. There is some flexibility to accommodate varied schedules (academic or otherwise).

Most SCAMP participants hold or are pursuing a Ph.D. in one of the fields mentioned above, but we do not require any particular academic background. Exceptional undergraduates will also be considered.

U.S. citizenship is required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a security background investigation and polygraph (which we sponsor).
