Position Description
Associate Professor Laura Escobar Vega in the Mathematics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Combinatorics and/or Algebraic Geometry to start in the summer of 2026. We are seeking a candidate with a demonstrated record of published research (including Ph.D. thesis) whose research interests align with those of Professor Escobar Vega. Broadly, these include the following areas: algebraic combinatorics and combinatorial algebraic geometry. The selected candidate will conduct research in one or more of the above fields and will collaborate with Professor Escobar Vega, other faculty members, and graduate students. Highly motivated candidates who possess strong communication skills and who work well both independently and collaboratively are strongly encouraged to apply.
