SAINT MARY’S COLLEGE, NOTRE DAME, IN Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science

The Saint Mary's College Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, beginning in Fall 2026. This is a tenure track position. Requirements include a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. We are particularly interested in applicants who demonstrate expertise in applied areas of mathematics, with an emphasis in mathematical modeling and/or statistical applications with an expressed, preferably demonstrated, interest in teaching at the undergraduate level. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to assume a leadership role in teaching and developing applied courses in areas such as math modeling, applied linear algebra, and/or actuarial and data science. An ability to teach at the graduate level in our Master of Science in Data Science program will provide an additional advantage. The expected teaching load will be 18 credits per year. Responsibilities beyond teaching include directing undergraduate research and senior comprehensive projects, academic advising, appropriate scholarly and professional activities, and service to the Department and the College.
