Position Description
The Department of Mathematics of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of probability theory and statistical physics. The successful applicant is expected to work in the research group of Dr. Maximilian Nitzschner. The position carries no teaching load and comes with a competitive salary. Candidates must possess a PhD degree by the time of appointment. Review of applications will start on December 15, 2025, and continue until the position is filled. The appointment start date is flexible and could be any date from now (for local candidates) or from February 1, 2026 (for non-local candidates) to September 30, 2026.
