The Department of Mathematics at Fordham University invites applications for its Bepler Chair in Mathematics, to begin in Fall 2026. The Bepler chairs, made possible through a generous endowment from Kim and Stephen Bepler, recognize scientists of exceptional scholarly impact. The Bepler Chair in Mathematics includes a tenured appointment in the Department at an appropriate rank, and comes with a reduced teaching load and a research fund supported by the endowment. The holder is expected to take an active role in the life of the Department and University. Initial appointment to the Chair is for 5 years with the possibility of renewal conditional on continuing scholarly contributions consistent with the terms of the Chair. The expected salary range at the rank of full professor is $185,000 to $225,000.
The position is open to mathematicians/specialists working in all areas of pure and applied mathematics. Applicants must demonstrate a record of outstanding research, of excellence in teaching, and of professional service.
