Position Description

Postdoctoral Scholar position in Quantitative Finance / Mathematical Economics 

One postdoctoral scholar position in Quantitative Finance / Mathematical Economics is currently available in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo. The postdoctoral scholar is expected to work with Professor Mario Ghossoub and Professor Max Nendel. Potential topics may include risk sharing, general equilibrium theory and applications, optimal transport and its economic/financial applications, etc.

Appointments are typically one or two years. Teaching is not mandatory for this position, but the postdoctoral fellow may have the opportunity to teach (with compensation) no more than one course in Statistics or Actuarial Science per academic year based on teaching qualifications.

The starting date of the position is flexible, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Interested applicants should submit the required documentation on mathjobs.org by November 15, 2025.

Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematical Economics, or a related area.
