Position Summary:
The Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University invites applications for one tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of Applied Mathematics. The successful applicants will have evidence of scholarly research, as well as a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses as assigned by the Department Chair, as well as the continued development of an excellent and well-recognized research program.
Required Job Qualifications:
1. Doctorate in Mathematics or related area by application deadline.
2. A research program in Applied Mathematics.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
1. Evidence of scholarly research in Applied Mathematics.
2. Evidence of teaching skills that show the candidate is prepared for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

- a cover letter that addresses specific interests in CSU and its Department of Mathematics;
- a complete curriculum vitae;
- a teaching statement, limited to 2-3 pages;
- a research statement, limited to 2-3 pages (references do not count towards the page limit);
- PDFs of 3 scholarly works by the applicant, e.g., publications or preprints, considered to be most impactful;
- names and contact information for 3-5 references, at least one who will address the candidate’s teaching accomplishments.
All reference writers will be provided with a link to upload their letter following the submission of the application. For an application to be considered complete, at least two letters must be received by November 16, 2025, in addition to the materials above. Although applications will be accepted until the position is filled, only completed applications will be assured full consideration. Application materials of semi-finalists will be made available to the Mathematics Department Faculty.

Actively seek (and secure) external research funding to support the research efforts. 3. Participate in departmental research group activities and other research collaborations which are internal and external to CSU.

The faculty member will participate in service and outreach activities for the department, college, university and/or community, in consultation with the department chair.
