Position Description:

FWF ASTRA Project Modelling heterogeneous cell clusters and their environment

PhD position

Planned Start: February 2026

Duration: 3-4 years

Where: Faculty of Mathematics, University of Vienna, Austria

Salary: approx. 39 k € gross (corr. to approx. 28k € net salary / year)

Required

- Undergraduate degree in applied mathematics or a related field Preferred

- Knowledge of (partial) differential equations

Post-doc position

Planned Start: February 2026

Duration: 3 years

Where: Faculty of Mathematics, University of Vienna, Austria

Salary: approx. 69 k € gross (corr. to approx. 45k € net salary / year)

Required

- Graduate degree in applied mathematics or a related field

- Experience with (partial) differential equations

- Experience with modelling of biological or physical systems

- Experience with programming Preferred

- Published in the field of biomathematics

- Has worked with experimentalists/data

- Programming skills

- Knowledge of modelling of biological or physical systems
