Graduate Program Application

To recruit the best possible graduate students, the Department of Mathematics at the University of Oklahoma is offering a limited number of waivers to the application fee for their graduate program. Such waivers will be provided to applicants based on their merit and suitability for the program. Any interested student is encouraged to apply for this waiver, regardless of their individual circumstances.

To apply for a fee waiver:

First, read through our admissions page to make sure you meet the program’s requirements. Then, apply for the waiver by submitting the following materials here on MathJobs:

·         The application cover sheet, which may be found here.

·         GRE scores are not required, but may be provided if you have them.

·         A statement of interest

·         A resume/CV

·         A copy of your recent, official transcript(s)

·         Three letter(s) of recommendation

·         These should be from people familiar with your work in mathematics. Please encourage your letter writers to read our advice for letter writers.

·         (International students only) A copy of your scores in an English language proficiency test. Please consult this table to determine which tests we accept and make sure that you meet the minimums.

To ensure full consideration for a fee waiver, please apply by January 15th.

Please keep in mind that this is not the official application to the graduate program, and you will still need to complete an official application after receiving a decision on your waiver application. However, there is no need to complete the official application before receiving a decision on your waiver application. If you apply for a waiver by January 15th, you will have “met the deadline” for the official application. When you receive a decision on your waiver application (regardless of whether you get a waiver or not), you will be given a window of time in which to complete the official application.
