Call for applications --2026 start 

The appointed researcher will join a team dedicated to the study of the topology of moduli spaces of GG-Higgs bundles on compact Riemann surfaces, as well as the closely related moduli spaces of Hodge bundles and character varieties of surface group representations in real Lie groups GG. While these spaces have been extensively investigated in the case of the complex general linear group, for general real groups even their most basic invariants remain undetermined. 

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics and possess a solid background in Algebraic Geometry. 

We offer an interdisciplinary research environment and opportunities for collaboration with our partner team in Germany. The position carries no teaching duties. 

Contract & Timeline 

- Duration: 24 months.

- Start date: No later than 1st April 2025.
