University of Vienna, Faculty of Mathematics
Position Description
Faculty of Mathematics
University of Vienna
A number of full-time pure-research postdoctoral positions in the area of geometric partial differential equations are available at the University of Vienna through grants of the Austrian Science Fund to the principal investigators (PIs) Michael Eichmair, Thomas Körber, and Daniele Semola.
These grants are
- Isoperimetry in mathematical relativity (PI Michael Eichmair),
- Applications of minimal surface techniques in geometry (PI Thomas Körber),
- Optimal inequalities in geometry and relativity (PI Thomas Körber),
- Geometric Analysis under lower Ricci Curvature bounds (PI Daniele Semola).
The initial appointment of these positions is for one year with the possibility of extension by another two or three years. The working language of the research groups is English.
The gross annual income for these positions is ca. 70,000 EUR, which enables a very comfortable lifestyle in Vienna, arguably the most liveable city in the world.
Paid teaching opportunities at the Faculty of Mathematics can be arranged if desired by the candidates.
