The Mathematics & Mathematics Education Department (MME) invites applicants with an earned doctorate and research portfolio in Mathematics Education for Associate Professor/Assistant Professor position. Requirements • Doctorate in Mathematics (preferably Discrete Mathematics) • Strong record of publications in reputable, peer-reviewed international journals • Demonstrated excellence in grant leadership as a Principal Investigator (PI) • Proven excellence in teaching at the university level • Excellent communication skills in English • Strong interpersonal skills with proven leadership of diverse, multicultural teams • Understanding and enthusiasm for working in Singapore and Asia, with a cultural appreciation for the region Additional Requirements for Associate Professor: • High research impact in a particular field of Mathematics, preferably Discrete Mathematics • Proven track record of grant awards, including being the PI of large-scale research projects Responsibilities: This position involves the development and teaching of curriculum and courses, and the development and conduct of research in Mathematics Education. Requirements The successful candidate should satisfy the following criteria: • A PhD in Mathematics from a reputable university. • A strong record of research and publications in reputable peer-reviewed international journals. • A strong record in university teaching in mathematics courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students. • (Preferably) Has past experience teaching in schools for K-12 levels. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to: • contribute to teaching and course development at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels for mathematics. • develop a research programme and secure competitive research grants. • supervise graduate and undergraduate students in mathematics research and school practicum • teach mathematics courses from pre-service to postgraduate level • teach advanced mathematics content courses for undergraduate pre-service teachers • (For Associate Professor) mentoring of young faculty members and serve in the NIE / NTU committees, and offer professional services to schools, the Ministry of Education and other public education-related organizations on a request basis.
