Position Description

The Institute of Algebra, Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics welcomes applications for 4 positions starting October 1, 2026 or earlier:
Postdoctoral Researcher in Arithmetic Geometry (salary scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)
These fixed-term positions are for a duration of 24 months.
Your role
You will conduct your own independent research and contribute to the mathematical activities in the group of Prof. Dr. Ulrich Derenthal or Prof. Dr. Ben Heuer.
You will contribute to the teaching of the department (4 hours per week).
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate must hold a university degree in Mathematics. Furthermore, a doctoral degree with high academic achievement in arithmetic geometry is expected.
