The primary criteria for evaluating applications are research excellence, publication quality, and international recognition. Additional considerations include a demonstrated ability to secure research funding, to lead a research group, and to contribute actively to scientific organization, whether within mathematics in the strict sense or in interdisciplinary fields. The ideal candidate has the potential to obtain and successfully execute an ERC or equivalent grant. 

A PhD in mathematics is required. The position carries no teaching duties, and knowledge of Hungarian is therefore not required. The successful applicant will be appointed as a Senior Research Fellow with a minimum monthly salary of HUF 1,000,000. 

The position begins on September 1, 2026.
