About the Position:

A postdoctoral position under the direction of Professor Mitchell Luskin is available at the University of Minnesota to participate in the development of machine-learning methods to model  the mechanical and electronic properties of 2D materials.This position is supported by the NSF and NSERC and involves collaboration with mathematicians, materials scientists, and physicists at UBC, Boston College, Michigan, and NJIT.


We seek a candidate with a strong background in any of partial differential equations, mathematical physics, numerical analysis, physics-informed machine learning, and scientific computation, although all strong candidates with an interest in this project will be seriously considered. The preferred start date is during the summer of 2026 or earlier.

Pay & Benefits:

Pay: $65,500 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience
