Salary Range - AFT - U20 - Steps 1-9 $62,919 - $88,099 Internal candidates' salary will be based on Union Negotiated Contracts US work authorization is required. Examples of Duties Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Deliver high-impact, inclusive instruction in Developmental Mathematics courses that supports students in the transition to college-level mathematics and preparation for advanced mathematics and science courses; deliver other courses based on expertise and program needs Support the hiring and management of developmental and general education mathematics adjunct instructors to create supportive learning environments. Develop, pilot, and supervise high-impact teaching and student support strategies and programs with the faculty, including, but not limited to, supplemental instruction, active learning, and group work. Assess and support the continual improvement in the Developmental Mathematics courses. Engage in curricular design with fellow mathematics colleagues to develop exciting career pathways, such as applied mathematics and actuarial science Maintain and develop partnership with campus student success offices, such as Tutoring Center, Student Success, Placement Testing, and Office of Specialized Services, and conduct workshops to support mathematics across the campus Engage in additional service in the department, school, and campus-wide as assigned Qualifications Qualifications: A Master’s degree or a Doctoral Degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field from an accredited institution received by the appointment start date is required Up-to-date knowledge on innovative pedagogy and instructional technologies used for developmental math instruction at institutions of higher education to increase student success; commitment to staying abreast of the most current teaching methods and instructional technologies is required Excellence in and demonstrated commitment to teaching students who are at pre-college/developmental math level Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics received before Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred Candidates with a background in Applied Mathematics and/or Actuarial Sciences will be given special consideration Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and organizational skills Commitment to innovative and creative approaches to teaching and training Enthusiasm to prepare students to succeed in courses requiring college-level math/quantitative reasoning abilities Experience working with students with math phobias or disabilities Competence in assessment and data analysis Ability to establish positive and collaborative working relationships with campus constituents (i.e. students, administration, faculty, staff from various offices) Application Materials: Applicants should submit: Cover letter CV Statement of teaching philosophy, including the candidate’s approach to high-impact teaching and support for students from a broad range of backgrounds Names and contact information for 3 references Review of applications will begin on January 5, 2026, and will continue until the position is filled.
