Position Description

... invites applications for a postdoctoral position in homological algebra with connections to representation theory of associative algebras, commutative algebra, algebraic geometry or model theory.

The position will be funded by Jan Stovicek's project Homological and model-theoretic methods in algebra and geometry awarded by the Czech Science Foundation. There are no teaching duties and knowledge of Czech language is not necessary.

Due to restrictions of the grant agency, applicants must have received their Ph.D. within the last 8 years excluding maternity and parental leave, and sick leave in the case of a long-term illness.

Applicants should have working knowledge of homological algebra, and preferably experience with derived categories. Applicants with experience in the theory of ring spectra and model-theoretic methods are also welcome to apply. See also the list of team members.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University is the leading institution in mathematics in Czechia, with highly motivated and well-educated students in our mathematics programs. The School of Mathematics has about 110 academic positions, as well as more than 30 international postdocs, covering most of the major areas of mathematics.

The Department of Algebra, where the position will be hosted, offers an open-minded international environment, with outstanding conditions for independent research. We currently have about 15 permanent and 15 postdoctoral positions, with most of the latter positions held by international researchers.
