The Department of Mathematics at the University of Concepción invites applications for a full-time academic position based in Concepción, Chile (job posting code 2026/017). Qualifications Applicants must: - Hold a Ph.D. (Doctorate) in Mathematics. - Meet the productivity guidelines for membership in the PhD program academic staff (CNA, Mathematics & Statistics Area Committee): at least three WOS publications, classified at least level B / Q2, within the last five years. - Provide proven experience in university teaching and research, including publications in major indexed journals. Preferred areas (aligned with the Department’s research lines): - Geometry and Algebra - Logic and Number Theory - Analysis The Department offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs in Mathematics and provides the opportunity to work in an active research environment. General Duties - Conduct research in Mathematics. - Teach undergraduate courses in Spanish. - Teach graduate courses. - Assume academic administrative responsibilities as needed. The consolidated PDF must include: (a) Curriculum Vitae, including two referee email addresses (a prescribed CV format is suggested by the Department). (b) Cover letter / motivation letter. (c) Research development plan / research statement. (d) Copy of the PhD degree certificate and (if applicable) copy of the professional title certificate. Recommendation letters In addition to the documents above, two recommendation letters are required. Referees must send them directly to the email address specified in the official posting (Concurso 2026/017). Applicants must obtain acknowledgment of receipt of the letters for the application to be considered valid. Deadline Application deadline: March 30, 2026.
