Position Description

PhD Position in Stochastic Analysis at IMPRS Leipzig

MPI MiS, the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, will launch a new Emmy Noether Group on "Noise in convection: modelling and analysis" led by Theresa Lange. The group investigates the interplay between randomness and convection in fluid flows. For this work, we are looking for a

PhD Student.

You will work on rigorous analysis of stochastic perturbations of fluid dynamic equations related to convection. Close interaction with other MPI MiS groups, especially "Applied Analysis" (László Székelyhidi) and "Pattern Formation, Energy Landscapes , and Scaling Laws" (Felix Otto) is encouraged and will enrich the research environment.

The PhD project will be fully integrated in the "International Research School Mathematics in the Sciences (IMPRS)", which provides a structured graduate program, regular seminars, workshops, and a strong international community.
