The Department of Mathematics at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications for a full-time Instructor position beginning August 2026. Instructorships are ongoing and renewable non-tenure-track teaching-oriented positions with a three-tiered promotion track. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and must possess a Master’s degree or Ph.D. by August 2026 in Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent field. A Ph.D. and ability to teach elementary statistics are preferred. Duties will include teaching an average of 12 hours per semester and department and university service. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is required, and professional development should continue. Research is welcomed, but neither required nor expected. The department is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the excellence and diversity of the academic community through their teaching and service.

Founded in 1873, TCU is a secular institution of approximately 13,000 students with a faculty devoted to excellence in teaching and research. TCU values diversity and inclusion in students, staff, and faculty; highly engaged and interdisciplinary learning; and community engagement. The Department of Mathematics is a small, collegial unit, currently with 21 full-time faculty members. The department serves approximately 125 majors in Math, Actuarial Science, and Data Science and has a small graduate program offering Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Mathematics. The university is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a vibrant metropolitan area of about 8 million people.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to describe in their application materials how they might support the university and department priorities described above.
