Position Information: North Dakota State University invites applications for a position as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics to begin on August 16th, 2026. This is a nine-month term position with excellent benefits, with a possibility of renewal for an additional year, subject to the availability of funding. The teaching load is 2-2. North Dakota State University is the land-grant university in the state of North Dakota. The Department of Mathematics has a vigorous and growing doctoral program and is currently composed of 13 faculty members and 28 graduate students (most of whom are Ph.D. students). The research interests of the faculty include the fields of algebra, analysis, applied mathematics, combinatorics, and geometry/topology. The department offers an energetic mathematician to work in a small, friendly, research-oriented department while at the same time enjoying exposure to colleagues in a wide variety of fields. Hiring Range: $55,000 Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations. Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. Demonstrated research potential. Effective oral and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: A strong record of or demonstrated potential for high-quality research consonant with the research of faculty in the department.
