Position Description:

Position Summary: Eastern New Mexico University is seeking applications for an Instructor of Mathematics, a renewable non-tenure track position, in the Department of Mathematical Sciences beginning August 2026. This is a residential appointment, and campus presence is expected.

Duties and Responsibilities: Teach developmental mathematics and statistics courses Teach general education mathematics and statistics courses, Provide appropriate service to the department, and Maintain scholarly currency in the teaching of introductory mathematics. Normal teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Regular and predictable attendance required Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Job Requirements: A Master’s Degree in Mathematics, or a mathematically related field, and at least 18 credit hours in graduate-level mathematics is required, but a Master's degree in mathematics is preferred. Experience teaching developmental mathematics is required, and experience teaching High School mathematics is preferred.

Physical Demand and Working Conditions: Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a consistent amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
