New Uzbekistan University is a rapidly developing, research-oriented institution established with the goal of building internationally competitive higher education in Central Asia. From its establishment, the Department of Mathematics was conceived as a central component of the university’s academic structure. The intention was to ensure that all programs—from engineering to the social sciences—are supported by solid mathematical training and logical rigor. The department was therefore developed with a strong emphasis on theoretical foundations, while maintaining attention to analytical and applied perspectives relevant to contemporary scientific problems.
The department includes researchers working in areas such as Algebraic Topology, Poisson Geometry, Algebraic Geometry, Mathematical Physics, Number Theory, Cryptography, Multivariate Statistical Analysis, Information Retrieval, and Kähler Geometry. Faculty members have received academic training or held positions at internationally recognized institutions including SUNY Stony Brook, the University of Michigan, the Max Planck Institute, Brown University, Stanford University, Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Waterloo, and UC Irvine.
