Position Description
WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY. The Department of Mathematics invites applications for potential Visiting Assistant Professor positions beginning Fall semester 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
Position Summary: We seek highly qualified candidates who have a commitment to excellence in teaching and possess experience teaching calculus at the university level. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a related area is preferred, but exceptional candidates with a Master’s degree in mathematics or a related area will also be considered. Holders of this position will teach three courses per semester, primarily calculus. This one-year position is renewable for up to three years depending on performance and department need.
The department has 17 tenure-track faculty, three teaching professionals, and five teacher-scholar postdocs. We offer the following undergraduate degrees: a B.A. and a B.S. degree in Mathematics and a B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics plus a minor in Mathematics. The department also has a graduate program offering an M.S. degree in Mathematics with both a thesis and non-thesis option.
