Position Description
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia seeks highly qualified candidates to fill a one-year Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Associate position with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. This particular position is mainly supported by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) grant on Hybrid Control, Computation and Machine Learning, and will be supervised by Professor Weiwei Hu. This is a teaching and research-track position and a maximum teaching load of 2 three-hour semester long courses per year. Competitive applicants should have experience working in one or more of the following areas: • Mathematical Control Theory • Optimization • Numerical Solutions of PDEs • Computation and Machine Learning and/or related topics. Candidates should demonstrate great promise in research and evidence of strong teaching. A Ph.D., or equivalent foreign degree, in Mathematics or a related field preceding the start date of appointment is required.
