Position Description

Position Specifics 
The Department of Mathematics in Penn State's Eberly College of Science is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will work with Professor Peter Hintz on problems in the areas of geometric partial differential equations and general relativity. These include: linear and nonlinear stability problems and scattering theory on expanding spacetimes, including Milne and accelerated power law spacetimes; nonlinear scattering and asymptotics near Big Bang singularities. 

Education and Experience 
Applicants must have recently completed a Ph.D. and have exceptional research potential. Teaching may be required. Candidates will be considered with background in the areas of hyperbolic PDEs and general relativity.
