Position Description:

The Department of Mathematics at POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) invites applications from outstanding candidates with strong research and teaching capabilities for postdoctoral researcher positions.

1. Position: Postdoctoral Researcher ※ After being hired as a postdoctoral researcher, the candidate may be appointed as a junior faculty lecturer and be responsible for teaching 1–2 mathematics courses per semester.

4. Qualifications / Preferred Requirements - Must have no disqualifications for appointment as a lecturer at a private university - Must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field or possess equivalent qualifications (However, for appointment as a junior faculty lecturer, the applicant must be within 5 years of receiving their Ph.D. from a domestic or international university) - Must be able to teach in English

5. Working Conditions / Compensation - Position Title: Postdoctoral Researcher and Junior Faculty Lecturer - Contract Period: 1 year (＊The contract may be extended upon mutual agreement based on performance) ※ A probationary period of up to 3 months may be applied from the initial appointment date to assess job performance and attitude - Working Days/Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM - Work Location: POSTECH, 77 Cheongam-ro, Nam-gu, Pohang, Gyeongbuk, Republic of Korea - Salary: Approximately KRW 50 million per year (including lecture fees as a junior faculty lecturer) ＊Negotiable based on research experience ＊＊Additional research funding may be provided - Other employment conditions will follow university regulations

10. Return of Submitted Documents Act on the Fairness of Recruitment Procedures Article 11 (Return of Application Documents, etc.) ① After the hiring decision has been finalized, if a job applicant (excluding the person who has been hired) requests the return of application documents, the employer shall, after confirming the identity of the applicant, return such documents in accordance with the Presidential Decree.
