Position Description

The Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) is considering the establishment of two or more full professorships in Mathematics, in the general areas of Algebra, Geometry, Analysis, Mathematical Physics, and Probability.

For the first position, we are particularly interested in the following fields • Dynamical Systems • Mathematical Aspects of Quantum Mechanics • Mathematical Aspects of Quantum Information • High-Dimensional Statistics • Optimization

For the second position, we are particularly interested in the following fields: • Algebraic Geometry • Arithmetic Geometry • Number Theory • Complex Geometry

SNS invites expressions of interest from scholars of the highest distinction, whose scientific achievements are widely recognized internationally, and who can demonstrate significant high-level research output in their field, proven experience in promoting and directing research activities, and a specific interest in teaching highly motivated and selected undergraduate and graduate students.

Following this preliminary phase, SNS will decide whether to activate the position(s) and how to proceed with the recruitment process.
