Position Description:

The University of South Alabama Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure track (9-month) Instructor or Assistant Professor of Instruction position in mathematics and/or statistics, starting August 15, 2026.

Applicants for the rank of instructor must have at least a master’s degree in mathematics or statistics (with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the corresponding discipline).

Applicants for the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction must have a Ph.D. in mathematics or statistics (with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the corresponding discipline).

Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching and service. The responsibilities for this position will include regular teaching duties, service to the department and university as well as other teaching-related activities.
