POSITION SPECIFICS
Teaching Positions in Mathematics or Statistics
Penn State Altoona invites applications for one or more full-time, Non-Tenure-Line Instructor or Open Rank Teaching Professor positions in Mathematics or Statistics. This position is a 12-month, 36-week, non-tenure track appointment for fall and spring semesters beginning Fall 2026. The initial appointments are for one year with a possibility of continuance.
Qualifications and Teaching Responsibilities: Primary duties include teaching mathematics and statistics courses as needed by the department. Candidates must possess a minimum of an M.S. or Ph.D. in either Mathematics or Statistics. Qualified candidates in all areas of mathematics and statistics will be considered.
Other Responsibilities: Engage in scholarly activities to stay current in the discipline; participate in curriculum and course assessment, undergraduate academic advising, and perform academic reviews; participate in campus, university, and professional service activities, and outreach to the community.
Interested candidates must submit an online application at Penn State's Job Posting Board, and should submit a letter of application establishing their qualifications, a current curriculum vitae, a description of teaching philosophy and evidence of teaching effectiveness, transcripts (official transcripts required at the time of an interview), and at least three letters of reference. Two of the letters of reference should specifically address the applicant's teaching. System limitations allow for a total of 5 documents (5mb per document) as part of your application.
