As Director of the Statistical Consulting Centre, you will integrate high-impact consulting, research and education across the University. By building partnerships with government, industry and academia, and mentoring staff and researchers, you help advance statistical practice. What you will deliver:
Provide strategic leadership for the Statistical Consulting Centre’s consulting, research, teaching and training activities.
Oversee and grow consulting services for government, industry, business and University clients, ensuring high-quality statistical support.
Lead development of innovative statistical education programs and short courses for students, researchers and external participants.
Supervise and mentor academic staff and graduate researchers, fostering excellence in applied statistics and consulting practice.
Build national and international collaborations that enhance the School’s research profile and real-world impact in data science.
You will be a scholar of international reputation with:
A research doctorate in Statistics and recognised international standing in statistical science.
A demonstrated outstanding record of high-quality statistical consulting across business, industry, government and academia.
Sustained, impactful research outputs and evidence of leading collaborative projects in applied or methodological statistics.
Ability to communicate complex statistical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, clients and interdisciplinary collaborators.
Experience providing inclusive, strategic leadership of teams, nurturing staff development and a positive, high-performance consulting culture.
Experience in high-profile consultations, such as legal reporting, expert witness roles or government advisory work.

The Statistical Consulting Centre sits within the School of Mathematics and Statistics, one of Australia’s leading schools. You will join a vibrant, research-intensive community with strong international links and major ARC-funded centres.
