Position Description
Towson University (TU) is one of the nation’s top 100 public
universities. Located north of Baltimore, TU currently enrolls over 19,000
students and is the second-largest university in the prestigious University

Position: The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics invites
applications for two positions, both full-time, non-tenure track,
9-month Teaching Assistant Professors in the Department of Mathematics.
Preferred start date is August 2026.
Qualifications: Master’s or doctoral degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or equivalent. A commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching is required. Preferred qualifications include prior experience teaching either Introductory Statistics courses or Basic and Intermediate Algebra courses.
Responsibilities: The instructional workload is 24 contact hours per year; typical courses are 3 or 4 contact hours. Workload includes departmental service, such as course coordination or responsibility for an ongoing departmental initiative. Teaching Faculty are expected to show evidence of on-going professional development via scholarly endeavors and/or engagement with the college teaching community.
Specific department needs include two different areas of focus:
- The responsibilities for
one position will primarily focus on instruction and coordination of Introductory
Statistics courses.
- The responsibilities for the
second position will primarily focus on instruction and course development
in Basic and Intermediate Algebra courses.

Salary and Benefits: Targeted salary range: $55,000 - $60,000 commensurate with experience.
